Effects
of the use of AGRABOND(ZEA)
In oral lessions caused by mycotoxins in heavy breeders
Experience in south Brazil - 2003/04
Ricardo Araujo Castilho
Hystory:
- Private company with Private company with 350,000 breeders
- Birth index= 155 chicks per breeders
- Linhagens: Cobb e Ross
- Hystoric problem of multiple mycotoxin contamination in breeders
and broilers
Lot before the use of AGRABOND(zea)
Incidence of oral lessions
before the use of AGRABOND(ZEA)
- Greater occurrence at peak production, between ages of 26 to
35 weeks
- 70% a 100% of brids affected
- Some lots with lessions up to 50 weeks

Lot before the use of AGRABOND(zea)
Effect of oral lessions in Breeders
- Reduction in feed consumption. Delay of 6 hrs in feeding / increase
in feeding time.
- Lower production.
- Reduction in laying
Increase of eggs in bed

Stopped use of bactericide in feed = problem
perisisted.

Treatment with Gentien Violet in water =
cured lessions, but later returned.
Increase in Granulometry = Problem persisted

Treatment with various Mycotoxin adsorbents indicated
for Aflatoxin = Problem persisted

In some lots the oral lessions are present in 100% of
birds!
It was decided to use 0,5 Kg / MT . Of AGRABOND(ZEA)
Lot before the use of AGRABOND(zea)
After 2 weeks of using AGRABOND(ZEA) The incidence of
oral lessions in these lots, practically disappeared

Lot after the use of AGRABOND(zea)
After using 0,5 Kg / ton. of AGRABOND(ZEA)
-
The feed consumption returned to normal
-
Laying of eggs reurned to normal
-
The lessions practically disappeared

Lot after the use of AGRABOND(zea)
Breeders treated with 0,5 Kg / MT of AGRABOND(ZEA)
-
85 % of breeders did not showed any oral lessions

During the peak (26-35 week.) period ,10 % of breeders showed
some light oral lessions!!!
